Cabo Girao (Europe’s Highest Cliff) Skywalk
Madeira Island will soon have a skywalk in Cabo Girão similar to the one in the USA’s Grand Canyon.
Cabo Girão is one of Madeira’s most popular tourist attractions, with about 1800 tourist visits a day. The area is currently being redeveloped, the road has been widened, shops, parking and a breathtaking glass skywalk at the lookout point are being constructed. The skywalk will be made of transparent glass, which will give tourists a great sensation and stunning views. Project expected for 2012.
Due to redevelopment, Cabo Girão will be closed to all visitors from 2nd May 2012 for a period of four months. We apologise for any inconvenience.
