Spring is here and so is Madeira’s most spectacular events

VII Madeira Paragliding Meeting - April 1st - 3rd
The Madeira Paragliding Meeting is a five day event organized by the Madeira Free Flight Association, ‘Associação de Voo Livre da Madeira’, where many regional, national and international pilots from various clubs take part in this exciting adventure. This event takes place in many parts of the Island, offering good flying conditions and beautiful sights in locations such as Cabo Girão, Canhas, Arco da Calheta, Chão da Lagoa, Funchal, Seixal, and Rabaçal, a paragliding adventure getaway.

To avoid disappointment and injury here are a few requirements and recommendations:

* Every Pilot must have a valid license and Insurance
* Able to land in small spaces
* Paragliding boots and helmets are highly recommended

Madeira Flower Festival – Funchal - 21 - 22
Madeira Island welcomes in spring with its dazzling Flower Festival: a highlight of the year, the celebration runs over four days, with beautiful displays of tropical flowers, floral carpets and music. The best-known part of all is the Flower Festival Parade, which starts with the Children’s parade on the Saturday. The climax is the festival's main parade day on Sunday, when hundreds of flower dancers accompanied by huge floral floats parade through the main streets of Funchal. This really is a sight not to miss and a photographer's paradise!

Another highlight is the great creative display of tropical flowers by the local Flower growers on the Largo da Restauração.

This is the best time of year to discover the beauty of Madeira Island and experience one of the biggest tourist attractions held every year.
