Madeira Christmas Lights

Madeira's preparations for the Christmas and New Year festivities have started.

The Christmas lights in Funchal city centre and surrounding area were switched on November 23rd. Lights remain on until 11th of January.

Be sure not to miss the party in Funchal Market (Mercado dos Lavradores) and surrounding streets on December 23rd.

This year a big investment of 1.20 million Euros will be spent for the great New Year’s fireworks show, the biggest in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records.
