Soft sand and warm blue sea
Most of Madeira's beaches are dark volcanic sand and pebbles but if you like them blond, this beach is for you! Calheta is on the sunny south west coast of the island and about 20 minutes by car from Funchal. It's a great getaway destination for walkers, surfers, divers and those who just like peace and quiet.
