A series of rocky hills extending into the sea
At the far eastern end of Madeira, the promontory that is Ponta de São Lourenço is like a small piece of Africa. Rocky, sandy and with a different feel to the rest of Madeira, this area is home to many threatened species of plants and is a protected park.
